Ernest Shackleton—endurance vs. faintheartedness
In August 1914, Ernest Shackleton and 27 crewmembers set sail from London in the Endurance. Their mission—to cross Antarctica on foot—had to be abandoned when ice trapped their ship and eventually crushed it to pieces.... All 28 survived.
